Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) Nguyen Thi Hong had a meeting with Ms Diane Farrell, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Asia, U.S. Department of Commerce on May 18, 2017 at the SBV headquarters.
The meeting was attended by representatives of International Cooperation Department, Agency for Supervision and Inspection, Legal Department, Anti-money Laundering Department and specialists from U.S Embassy in Vietnam
At the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong warmly welcomed the working visit of Ms Diane Farrell and the U.S Department of Commerce delegation to Vietnam. SBV Deputy Governor briefed her guest issues on ensuring IT security for banking system of Vietnam; cooperation in Anti-money Laundering and anti-terrorist financing; electronic payment services, etc.
For her part, Ms Diane Farrell, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Asia, U.S. Department of Commerce expressed her sincere thanks to Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong for her receiving the Delegation. She also expressed her impression on Vietnam’s economic development, especially the APEC Vietnam 2017 which would create opportunities for consolidating bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and the U.S. Ms Diane Farrell congratulated on SBV Management Board’s outstanding performance and solutions that develop Vietnam banking system thereby promoting Vietnam economy. She hoped to have stronger and more effective cooperation between Vietnam banking industry and the U.S partners.
