Governor Le Minh Hung of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) had a meeting with Mr.Guo Shuqing, Chairman of China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) at the SBV headquarter on November 13, 2017. Attending the meeting were leaders of Banking Supervision Agency, Foreign Exchange Management, SBV Office and International Cooperation Department.
The SBV Governor welcomed the working visit of CBRC delegation led by Chairman Guo Shuqing to Vietnam. He hoped that the working visit of CBRC delegation would contribute to further enhancing cooperative relation between the two sides.
At the meeting, Governor Le Minh Hung and CBRC Chairman Guo Shuqing briefed of operational situations of the banking industry in the two countries as well as operational results of Chinese banks operating in Vietnam over the past time. CBRC Chairman Guo Shuqing congratulated on achievements Vietnam has obtained in the process of restructuring banking sector and expressed his willingness to share experience in this field.
The meeting
Governor Le Minh informed the guest that the SBV had just granted document on approving in principle the establishment of a branch in Hanoi to the Agricultural Bank of China. At the same time, he requested the two sides to continue close cooperation in the inspection and supervision of cross-border presences in order to ensure safe and sound banking operations, at the same time, facilitate those institutions to contribute to developing the relation of trade and investment between Vietnam and China.
