On September 12, 2019 at the headquarters of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), Governor Le Minh Hung had a meeting with Ms. Beatrice Maser Mallor, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to Vietnam, who came to say goodbye before the end of her tenure.

At the meeting, Governor Le Minh Hung asserted that the Government of Vietnam always highly appreciates the cooperative relations between Vietnam and Switzerland over the past time. He expressed his sincere thanks to the Government of Switzerland for supporting Vietnam’s socio-economic development, contributing to the positive achievements in the socio-economic development in the recent years. The SBV Governor also thanked Ambassador Beatrice Maser Mallor for her contributions to the enhancement of the cooperative relations between the two countries in general and in the banking sector in particular through the support for the implementation of the programs and projects of improving the capabilities and restructuring the banking industry in Vietnam. He said that the SBV would continue to closely coordinate with the Embassy of Switzerland and the relevant institutions (SECO, WB) to implement effectively the on-going and expected projects between the two sides.
An overview of the meeting
For her part, Ambassador Beatrice Maser Mallor expressed her impression with the positive progresses of Vietnam over the past four years and her pleasure at the development of the cooperative relations between the two countries in various fields. The Swiss Ambassador also thanked the SBV for supporting her and the Embassy of Switzerland to do their duties and tasks in Vietnam over the past time.
Also at the meeting, Governor Le Minh Hung and the Swiss Ambassador exchanged about the implementation of several bilateral cooperative activities, as well as their common interests in the banking sector. The Swiss Ambassador spoke highly of the efforts of the SBV and the relevant ministries and agencies in the process of preparing for the APG’s multilateral assessment on anti-money laundering, and expressed her willing to support Vietnam.
At the end of the meeting, the SBV Governor hoped that the Swiss Ambassador would continue to support the SBV in enhancing the bilateral cooperation, thereby promoting bilateral trade and investment relations between Switzerland and Vietnam. The SBV Governor also wished the Swiss Ambassador further successes and achievements in her new position.
