On November 6, 2019 at the headquarters of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), Deputy Governor Nguyen Kim Anh had a meeting with the Mission of BC Card, South Korea.
Also attending the meeting, on the SBV’s side, there were representatives from the Payment Department, the International Cooperation Department, the SBV Office and the Information Technology Department; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lien Viet Post Joint-Stock Commercial Bank (LienVietPostBank); Mr. Lim Nam Hun, Head of BC Card Global Business, together with officers of LienVietPostBank and BC Card.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Kim Anh spoke highly of the cooperation potentials between BC Card and Vietnamese banks and financial institutions.

He expressed his hope that with its rich experience in card payment development in South Korea and other countries, BC Card would share its practical expertise on possible solutions to develop non-cash payments in a safe and effective manner, especially the card payment operations in South Korea and the world; sharing experience in the management, development and monitoring of the performance of payment accepting entities and third parties (non-banks) participating in the card issuance and payment operations; the development of digital banking products and services, etc.

For his part, Mr. Lim Nam Hun thanked Deputy Governor Nguyen Kim Anh for his hospitality and made high evaluation for Vietnam’s economic development. He said that Vietnamese market has great potentials for South Korea to invest in, especially in the finance and banking areas. He also briefed on the progress of the cooperation in switching with NAPAS in order to provide more card-based utilities for Vietnamese and South Korean consumers; BC Card’s plan of coordinating with LienVietPostBank and other partners in Vietnamese market in the coming time. He expressed his belief that the close cooperation between South Korea and Vietnam would open more cooperation opportunities for the baking sectors of the two countries in the future.
