On July 7, 2020 in Hanoi, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) organized a ceremony to grant the License for the Establishment to Daegu Bank – Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) branch.
Under the authorization by the SBV Governor, Acting Chief Inspector Nguyen Van Du of the BSA hands over the License for the Establishment to the Chief Representative of Daegu Bank in HCMC.
Attending the ceremony, on the SBV’s side, there were Mr. Nguyen Van Du, Acting Chief Inspector of the Banking Supervision Agency (BSA), and representatives from the relevant Departments under the BSA. On the South Korean side, there were Mr. Kim Won Tae, Consul, Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in HCMC, Mr. Kim Beom Gu, Counselor of the Korean Embassy in Vietnam, and representatives of the Korean Financial Supervisory Authority in Vietnam.
Under the authorization by the SBV Governor, Mr. Nguyen Van Du, Chief Inspector of the BSA, handed over the License for the Establishment of Daegu Bank - HCMC branch to Mr. Choi Jae Ho, Chief Representative of Daegu Bank in HCMC.
Speaking at the ceremony, the BSA Acting Chief Inspector congratulated Daegu Bank on the establishment of its new branch in HCMC. He hoped that the presence of Daegu Bank in HCMC would make the best use of the existing and potential strengths of the Vietnamese market, which has a favorable geographical location and is a gateway of international aviation and maritime routes. He also expressed the SBV’s support and has high evaluation for the presence of Daegu Bank in Vietnam as a foreign bank branch.

Mr. Choi Jae Ho, Chief Representative of Daegu Bank in HCMC, sincerely thanked the SBV for having granted the License to Daegu Bank – HCMC branch, and expressed his belief that the establishment of Daegu Bank – HCMC branch would contribute not only to the bilateral trade development between Vietnam and South Korea but also to the global economic growth in general.
