Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) had a meeting with Mr. Jindong Hua, Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), in Hanoi on July 14.

At the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong welcomed the working visit of Mr. Jin Dong Hua and his IFC delegation to Vietnam, and highly appreciated the cooperation and assistance from the IFC for the SBV over the past years. She also exchanged her view with Mr. Jin Dong Hua on macro - economic situations and developments in the banking sector; the Government’s and the SBV’s measures of curbing inflation, stabilizing macro-economy and supporting economic growth; the restructuring of the economy, human resources improvement… She said that the SBV would continue managing monetary policy in an active and flexible manner in collaboration with the fiscal policy and other policies in order to proactively control the inflation, ensure macro-economic stability, enhance economic growth and support the development of financial market. Moreover, she expressed her hope that the IFC would further support and cooperate with Vietnam in the cause of development and modernization.
For his part, Vice President Jindong Hua expressed his sincere thanks for the SBV Deputy Governor’s hospitality and his deep impression on the successes and encouraging results which Vietnam has achieved in the implementation of solutions in macro-economic stability, inflation control, and social protection. At the same time, he congratulated on the remarkable activities of SBV Governor on the occasion of the CPV General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s official visit to the U.S, especially the signing of four cooperation agreements with the World Bank.
