According tot he General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO), the consumer price index (CPI) decreases by 0.21% in September against the previous month, increases by 0.4% as compared to that of December 2014, and increases by YoY of 0,74%.
Specifically, the price of seven groups of commodities out of eleven groups of commodities increases while the price of four groups of commodities out of eleven groups of commodities decreases. The price of the transport group registers the highest decrease of 3.17%; the price of the group of housing and construction materials declines by 0.68%. The price of the group of food and catering services decreases by 0.13%, of which the price of food, foodstuff and dinning-out service decreases by 0.24%, 0.14% and 0.02%. The price of the group of postal services registers the lowest decrease of 0.07% in comparison with the previous month.
The price of the group of medicine and health services registers the highest increase of 1.59% The price of the groups of family equipment and appliances; education; garments, textiles, hats and footwear; other commodities and services; beverage and cigarette; and culture, entertainment and tourism increases by 0.32%, 0.24, 0.21%, 0.19%, 0.1% and 0.03% respectively.
CPI in Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Hai Phong, Da Nang and Hanoi decreases by 0.47%, 0.39%, 0.3%, 0.16% and 0.1% respectively.
The gold price is up by 3.54%; and VND depreciates by 2.71% against the US dollar.
