Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) Nguyen Thi Hong had a courtesy meeting with CEO of Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFG (BTMU) Asian and Oceania, Mr. Takayoshi Futae on June 17, 2016 at the headquaters of the State Bank of Vietnam.
At the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong congratulated Mr. Takayoshi Futae on being appointed as CEO of BTMU Asian and Oceania and strongly believed that Mr. Takayoshi Futae will contribute effectively in promoting the collabolation of banking system of the two countries.
The Deputy Governor highly valued the performance of the BTMU in Vietnam. The BTMU Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh Branches are operating effectively in line with the Vietnamese law and SBV’s banking regulations, she stressed. The participation of the BTMU in Vietinbank as the strategic partner and investor has helped to promote the prestige and brand of the Vietinbank as well as enhance its financial capability, governance, risk management, technological modernization and product and service development.
For his part, Mr. Takayoshi Futae briefed Deputy Governor several contents relating to BTMU strategic stakeholding and BTMU support plan for Vietinbank including Business plan to 2017 and its fully participating in the process of the plan implementation to ensure the fulfilling of the set objectives. The CEO of BTMU Asian and Oceania affirmed that BTMU is willing to share its experience and provide resources and expertise in the restructuring of Vietnam banking industry and resolution of non-performing loans (NPLs).
