Since the first episode was aired at 20:55 hours on Friday, May 7, 2021 on VTV1 channel, “Holding the purse-strings”, a TV program jointly produced by the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) and Vietnam Television (VTV) has attracted big numbers of audiences. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, VTV Deputy Director General, at a recent event on financial inclusion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had made high evaluation for the financial education programs jointly produced by the SBV and the VTV, including “Holding the purse-strings”.

On May 6, 2021, the Communication Department of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) in coordination with the Center for Education Programs, Vietnam Television (VTV7) organized a launching ceremony for a new financial education program named "Holding the purse-strings". SBV Deputy Governor Nguyen Kim Anh attended and chaired the ceremony.

On August 20-21, 2024, in Hanoi, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) hosted the 18th Meeting of the ASEAN Working Committee on Financial Inclusion (WC-FINC) under the co-chairmanship of the Bank of Thailand (BoT) and Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB). The Meeting was attended by representatives from the central banks of ASEAN Member States, the ASEAN Secretariat, and partner institutions such as UNCDF, ASEAN-BAC, and OECD.
