The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has issued Decision No. 1033/QD-NHNN approving the banking sector’s Action Plan to implement the Scheme on “Raising awareness, generalizing skills and developing human resources for the national digital transformation by 2025, with orientations to 2030”.

Accordingly, the Action Plan is comprised of the following specific contents:
(i) Development and issuance of mechanisms and policies: Developing and issuing mechanisms and policies to support, conduct training, knowledge and skill development in digital transformation for the management officials, who are specialized and directly involved in the implementation of the digital transformation in the banking industry; Arranging the implementation in line with the issued mechanisms and policies; Applying the form of unplanned and timely commendation to units/individuals who have ideas, initiatives, breakthrough and creative ways of implementation for the digital transformation;
(ii) Raising awareness of digital transformation: Developing a plan to raise awareness of digital transformation; Conducting the awareness raising of digital transformation;
(iii) Generalizing skills in digital transformation: Developing a plan to generalize digital transformation skills; Conducting the generalization of digital transformation skills;
(iv) Developing human resources for digital transformation: Developing a plan to develop human resources for digital transformation; Conducting the human resource development for digital transformation;
(v) Cooperation and support for the implementation: Communicating, informing and raising awareness of the relevant units and the credit institutions about the role and the meaning of the Scheme; Promoting the international cooperation to exchange experience in training and research on digital technology and digital skills applied in the banking industry; Conducting periodic surveys and assessments of difficulties and problems that may be encountered by the units in implementing the digital transformation;
(vi) Coordinating with the Ministry of Information and Communications to implement the various task groups within the Scheme; etc.
The relevant units in charge of developing the Action Plan shall be responsible for directing and urging the implementation, promptly reporting to the SBV Governor to remove any difficulties and obstacles during the implementation process of the Plan.
