The General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO) has announced that the consumer price index (CPI) increases by 0.14% in April against the previous month, increases by 0.04% in comparison with December, 2014, and registers a YoY increase of 0.99%.
Specifically, the price of eight groups out of eleven groups of commodities increases. The price of the transport group registers the highest increase of 2.47%, the price of the group of housing and construction material up by 0.84% in comparison with the previous month. The price of other groups of commodities also increases, with the price of the group of culture, entertainment and tourism by 0.32%; the price of the group of medicine and health services by 0.19%; the price of the group of family equipment and appliances by 0.16%; %; the price of the group of garment, footwear and headwear is down by 0.14% and the price of the group of education slightly went up by 0.01%.
The price of three goup of commodities decreases, of which the price of the group of food and catering services significantly declines by 0.42%; the the price of the postal group decreases by 0.19%; the price of the group of beverage and cigarette decreases by 0.01.
The gold price is down by 1.14% as compared to the previous period; and VND depreciates by 0.74% against the US dollar.
