On September 28, 2026, at the headquarters of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), Deputy Governor Doan Thai Son held a meeting with Mr. Nianshan Zhang, Director General of the Southeast Asia Department at the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Welcoming Mr. Nianshan Zhang and the ADB delegation to the SBV, Deputy Governor Doan Thai Son congratulated Mr. Nianshan Zhang on his new position and expressed his confidence that he would continue to make positive contributions to further promoting practical and effective cooperation between the ADB and Viet Nam.
The Deputy Governor acknowledged ADB’s support for Viet Nam over the past years and expressed his hope that the ADB would continue to make positive contributions to Viet Nam’s socio-economic development in the coming period.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nianshan Zhang highly valued the strong cooperation between Viet Nam and the ADB. He shared that the ADB had raised its economic growth forecast for Viet Nam from 7.2% to 7.8% for 2026 and affirmed that the ADB would continue to support Viet Nam in its socio-economic development. The ADB representative also expressed his desire to further strengthen cooperation with Viet Nam in areas of mutual interest.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Deputy Governor Doan Thai Son expressed his confidence that, building on the sound cooperation established between the two sides over the past years, the SBV and the ADB would continue to strengthen their collaboration and achieve practical and effective results, contributing to Viet Nam’s socio-economic development.
