The SBV Deputy Governor highly appreciated the effective cooperation mechanism established between the SBV and the BOK through the implementation of the BOK-KPP over the past 10 years. This program has provided SBV officials with valuable opportunities to learn from and exchange experience with Korean experts, thereby better supporting research and policy advisory activities.
With the proactive contributions of the research teams from both sides, the BOK-KPP 2025 has been successfully implemented as planned. In particular, with the participation of former BOK Deputy Governor Jaesung Hur as Senior Advisor of the BOK-KPP 2025, Deputy Governor Nguyen Ngoc Canh expressed his confidence that the advisory report on “Strengthening capacity in balance of payments statistics” would provide practical and valuable recommendations to help the SBV improve the quality of the balance of payments statistics in the coming period.
For his part, Mr. Jaesung Hur, Head of the BOK delegation and Senior Advisor of the BOK-KPP 2025, commended the efforts of the joint research teams in preparing the advisory report and providing key recommendations to enhance the SBV’s balance of payments statistics. These include improving the legal framework, developing and enhancing the effectiveness and accuracy of statistical reporting databases, particularly the foreign exchange information system.
