To: All generations of leaders, officials, civil servants and employees of Vietnam’s banking sector
The Banking Sector is celebrating its 71st Birthday (May 6, 1951 - May 6, 2022) in the positive spirit shared by all Vietnamese citizens with the great efforts and strong determination to overcome various difficulties in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, protecting the people’s health and lives, while still ensuring the macro-economic stability, controlling the inflation at a low level, as well as accelerating the process of socio-economic recovery and development, creating a solid foundation to help our country accomplish successfully the socio-economic development goals for the 2021-2025 period, which were set out by the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).
Contributing to the general achievements of the country, the Banking Sector is proud to look back on its achievements and important contributions during the past 71 years to the cause of national liberation, reunification, innovation, development and integration of our country. With the precursor being the National Bank of Vietnam, the Banking Sector has steadily grown, meeting promptly and effectively the increasingly higher demand for credit capital and banking services to support the socio-economic development, contributing importantly to the macro-economic stability, the inflation control, and ensuring the social security in each period.
The remarkable contributions of the Banking Sector have been recognized and acknowledged by the Party and the State. A lot of collectives and individuals in the Sector have had the honor to receive various noble awards. Most recently, on January 7, 2022, the Party and the State awarded posthumously the title of "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" to Mr. Lu Minh Chau, former Deputy Director of the Special Finance Committee (N2683), the Central Party Bureau of the South and former General Director of the State Bank of Vietnam. This is not only a great honor and the pride of Mr. Lu Minh Chau's family, but also the honor and the pride of the entire Vietnam's banking sector, and of the special monetary organizations that served during the resistance wars.
The cause of national construction and development and Fatherland defense has entered a new phase, with higher and more complex requirements, while the world economic and political situations are developing unpredictably, posing new issues and challenges, which are expected to become more and more difficult and complicated for the Banking Sector to respond. This requires each of the banking officials and employees to continue with the good traditions that have been built up and refined in the last 71 years, develop their capabilities, wisdom, experience, and the highest sense of responsibility to accomplish the assigned tasks. All of the SBV Board of Management strongly believe that, with the solidarity and the efforts of the leaders, officials, civil servants and employees of the Banking Sector, we will continue to achieve new goals and reach new heights, contributing significantly to the innovation and the development of our countries, proving the worthiness of the trust and responsibility assigned by the Party, the State and the people.
On the occasion of the 71st Anniversary of Vietnam’s Banking Sector, on behalf of the SBV Party Committee and the SBV Board of Management, I would like to extend the deepest appreciation and the best wishes to all former cadres, former leaders of the Banking Sector over the time, the war invalids, the fallen ones' families, and all generations of leaders, officials, civil servants and employees of the Banking Sector. Wishing all of you and your families the best of health, happiness and successes!
Sincerely yours,
Nguyen Thi Hong
Member of the CPV Central Committee
