On April 26, 2024, in Hanoi, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) held a ceremony to announce and hand over the SBV Governor’s Appointment Decision of Director General of the SBV’s Office.

The ceremony was attended by Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Personnel Board of the SBV’s Party Committee, Governor of the SBV; together with leaders and representatives of the Human Resource Department, Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank For Industry and Trade (Vietinbank), as well as all of the officials and staff of the SBV’s Office.
At the ceremony, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Director General of the SBV Human Resource Department, announced the SBV Governor’s Decision No. 789/QD-NHNN dated April 23, 2024 appointing Ms. Tran Thu Huyen as Director General of the SBV’s Office. Ms. Tran Thu Huyen’s term of office is five (05) years, starting from the date of appointment. In addition, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan also announced Decision No.10-QD/TW dated April 23, 2024 of the Secretary of the Personnel Board of the SBV’s Party Committee appointing Ms. Tran Thu Huyen, Director General of the SBV’s Office, as Chief of the Office of the Personnel Board of the SBV’s Party Committee, effective from the date of signing.

Governor Nguyen Thi Hong handed over the Decision to and congratulated Ms. Tran Thu Huyen on her new position, which reflected the trust of the Personnel Board of the SBV’s Party Committee, as well as the SBV’s Board of Management.
The Governor once more emphasized the importance of the SBV’s Office as an advisory entity, assisting the SBV’s Board of Management in the its leadership and management. The SBV’s Office is also responsible for coordinating with the SBV’s provincial branches in order to organize and ensure a consistent implementation of the banking operations and tasks from the central to the local levels.
The Governor highly complimented Ms. Tran Thu Huyen’s long working experience in the banking sector. During all this time, Ms. Tran Thu Huyen has always reflected her good political and moral qualities, her high sense of responsibility. Ms. Huyen has had more than 10-year experience in management positions related to the organization and human resources at Vietinbank. This is an important background and also Ms. Huyen’s advantages in her new position at the SBV.
According to the SBV Governor, in the future, the Office’s missions will certainly increase and become more requiring. Therefore, Governor Nguyen Thi Hong expressed her wishes and beliefs that Ms. Huyen would develop her capabilities, together with all of the officials and staff of the SBV’s Office, to successfully accomplish the assigned tasks.

In her statement of gratitude, Ms. Tran Thu Huyen expressed her honor to receive the trust of the SBV Governor, the SBV’s Board of Management, and the Personnel Board of the SBV’s Party Committee. Ms. Tran Thu Huyen promised to do her best with the highest sense of responsibility, and to continue to develop her capabilities in order to dedicate to the individual and collective work at the SBV’s Office, to successfully accomplish the assigned tasks.
