Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) had a meeting with Ms.Junhong Chang, Director of the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO), and senior specialists of AMRO in Hanoi on October 25.
At the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong warmly welcomed the working visit of AMRO delegation to Vietnam. At the same time, she congratulated Ms. Junhong Chang on her appointment as Director of AMRO. She believed that AMRO under the leadership of Ms. Junhong Chang would effectively consult and support member countries, promote its role in international forums, and improve the effectiveness of CMIM. Moreover, she highly appreciated the role of AMRO in monitoring, assessing and compiling report on financial and economic situations in Vietnam and member countries as well as giving necessary recommendations about policies to support member countries in the implementation of regionally financial agreements. She also emphasized that the SBV would always closely coordinate with AMRO to formulate a mechanism of effectively monitoring financial and economic situations in the region, thereby contributing to stabilizing the financial system in context of fluctuated economies in the world and region.
Moreover, Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong expressed her sincere thanks to AMRO for supporting the SBV over the past time. She hoped for further support from AMRO in order to enhance the capacity of member countries through study tours, exchanging delegations and consultants among AMRO member countries.
