Deputy-Governor Nguyen Dong Tien of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) held a meeting with Mr. Seo Tae Jong, First Senior Deputy-Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS), in Hanoi on December 2.
At the meeting, D.G. Nguyen Dong Tien warmly welcomed Mister Seo Tae Jong to Vietnam. He greatly appreciated strict compliance with Vietnamese laws and SBV’s regulation in the banking field, as well as the active contribution to Vietnam’s socio-economic development made by South Korean enterprises and credit institutions. He added that the SBV always facilitates South Korean banks to operate effectively in Vietnam. He also briefed the guest on a number of issues concerning the macro-economic situation, monetary policy management and the restructuring of Vietnam’s banking sector.
For his part, FSS First Senior Deputy-Governor Seo Tae Jong expressed his pleasure at cooperative relations between the two countries in numerous fields, as well as the cooperation between the SBV and South Korean enterprises and banks operating in Vietnam. He sincerely thanked the Vietnamese Government and the SBV for supporting the development of South Korean banks over the years. He also talked about the operational situation of South Korean credit institutions operating in Vietnam and reported on the operations of the representative office of the FSS in Vietnam, and etc.
