Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) had a meeting with Ms. Maya Atig, Deputy Chief Executive of Agence France Trésor (AFT), in Hanoi on October 30.
At the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong highly appreciated the cooperative relation between Vietnam and France, especially in the financial and banking sector. She congratulated the AFT as representative entity of the French Ministry of Finance on achievements in the management of public debts and state treasury, especially the fund mobilization through bond issuance, thereby contributing to helping French economy overcome the difficulty period after the global economic crisis and public debts in Europe.
For her part, Ms. Maya Atig expressed her impression on socio-economic achievements that Vietnam has obtained as well as the results of managing monetary policies by the SBV, contributing to the economic growth and social protection ensuring. She also referred to the prospect of the economic recovery in France and Europe, plan on strengthening fiscal policy for 2015-2017 period, the initial results of the overall plan on restructuring the economy with the aim of improving the competitiveness of France, the prospect of QE package of EU and the French bond repurchasing. In addition, she introduced the plan on bond issuance and the opportunity of investing in bonds of French Government.
