The Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) Nguyen Thi Hong had a meeting with Chairman of Asia Pacific of The Bank of New York Mellon (BNY Mellon), Mr Stephen Lakey on July 7, 2016 at the SBV headquarter.
At the meeting, SBV Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong briefed her guest Vietnam macro-economic information and progresses of the Scheme of restructuring credit institutions and NPL resolution of Vietnam banking sector over the past time as well as the orientation of the SBV in monetary policy management in the coming time.
Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong also talked about international economic movement and its impacts on Vietnam financial – banking market. Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong said, as a governmental agency that is assigned to manage monetary-banking sector, the SBV will conduct timely and appropriate solutions to stablize domestic market and ensure macroeconomic stability, supporting economic growth.
Mr Stephen Lackey highly appreciated positive achievements of SBV’s policy management over the past time. He stated, BNY Mellon is willing to share the latest research and information on movements of international financial market with the SBV in the process of policy planning.
