On April 16, 2025, at the headquarters of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), Deputy Governor Nguyen Ngoc Canh had a meeting with Mr. Denis Ivanov, Chairman of the Board of the International Bank for Economic Co-operation (IBEC), and Ms. Alexandra Matveeva, Executive Deputy Chairperson of the IBEC’s Board.
An overview of the meeting
The IBEC Chairman expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome extended by the SBV Deputy Governor to the IBEC’s mission. The IBEC Chairman also shared about the results of the IBEC's operations in 2024 in the context of various unfavorable impacts caused by external factors. In addition, the IBEC Chairman further informed that currently the IBEC is focusing its resources on the implementation of the IBEC Development Strategy for the 2024-2026 period in order to ensure the IBEC's adaptability in the new situation, creating prerequisite conditions for its sustainable development in the following stages.

The SBV Deputy Governor spoke highly of the IBEC’s efforts and expressed his beliefs that under the leadership of Mr. Denis Ivanov, the IBEC would successfully accomplish its goals and tasks set out in the Strategy. The Deputy Governor also affirmed that Vietnam would always be a reliable member of the IBEC on its development path.

At the meeting, the two sides also talked about the orientations for the continued reforms in order to help the IBEC to become a more efficient and competitive international financial institution, thereby providing more effective support in promoting the foreign economic relations of the member countries.
