According to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO), the consumer price index (CPI) in July 2022 increased by 0.4% against that of June 2022, up by 3.59% as compared to that of December 2021, and up by 3.14% in comparison with that of the same period last year.
Out of eleven groups of commodities, the prices of nine groups of commodities increased and the prices of two groups of commodities decreased.
Specifically, the price of the group of food and catering services increased by 1.37%; the group of beverage and cigarette rose by 0.39%; the group of footwear and hat was up by 0.32%; the group of housing and construction materials increased by 0.49%; the group of household appliances and goods rose by 0.32%; the group of culture, entertainment and tourism was up by 0.79%; the group of other commodities and services increased by 0.43%.
Among the two groups that went down, the price of the group of traffic experienced a decrease of 2.85%.
The core inflation increased by 0.58% in July 2022 as compared with that of the previous month, and increased by 2.63% over the same time of 2021. The average core inflation for seven months of 2022 was up by 1.44% as compared with that of the same period of 2021.
