Deputy Governor Dao Minh Tu of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) had a meeting with Mr. Dieter Schulze-Vornhagen, Pricipal Economist and Country Manager for East Asia and Pacific of KfW Development Bank, in Hanoi on February 11.
At the meeting, SBV Deputy Governor Dao Minh Tu briefed the guest of socio –economic situation and banking operations in Vietnam in 2014. Accordingly, he said that the SBV obtained encouraging achievements in curbing inflation, stabilizing macro-economy and supporting economic growth. Moreover, he added that in 2015, the SBV has managed monetary policy in an active and flexible manner in close collaboration with the fiscal policy with the aim of controlling inflation at the target level of below 5%, stabilizing macro-economy, supporting economic growth at a reasonable level of 6.2% and ensuring liquidity of credit institutions and the economy; continued implementing the Scheme on restructuring the system of credit institutions for 2011-2015 period.
For his part, Mr. Dieter Schulze-Vornhagen expressed his sincere thanks for the warm hospitality of the SBV Deputy Governor. Moreover, he spoked highly of the achievements of the Vietnamese Government and the SBV in stabilizing macro-economy, curbing inflation and promoting economic growth, thereby creating favorable environment for attracting foreign investment.
