On the morning of September 24, 2026, at the headquarters of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), Deputy Governor Nguyen Ngoc Canh held a meeting with Mr. Uladzimir Baravikou, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Vietnam.
Also attending the meeting were representatives of the International Cooperation Department, the Foreign Exchange Management Department, and the Payment Department.

Welcoming Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou to the SBV, Deputy Governor Nguyen Ngoc Canh spoke highly of the positive developments in the friendly relations and cooperation between Vietnam and Belarus. In particular, the establishment of a Strategic Partnership between the two countries in May 2025 has provided a new framework for further promoting and deepening bilateral cooperation across various fields.
The Deputy Governor also appreciated the positive results of bilateral cooperation in recent years, reflected in the growth of bilateral trade turnover. He noted that the effective operation of the Vietnam–Belarus Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Trade, Scientific and Technical Cooperation had also made an important contribution to implementing bilateral cooperation agreements.
Overview of the meeting
At the meeting, Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou expressed his pleasure at the continued development of the Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Belarus and affirmed Belarus’s desire to maintain and further expand cooperation with Vietnam.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Ngoc Canh proposed that the two sides continue to maintain regular exchanges of information and proactively identify and recommend practical cooperation initiatives, thereby contributing to strengthening and deepening the Strategic Partnership between the two countries in the coming period.
