On March 6, 2026, the Vietnam Banking Trade Union held a meeting of the Steering Committee and Organizing Committee for the 2026 “Banking Sector Digital Transformation” Contest under the chair of SBV Deputy Governor Pham Tien Dzung, Head of the Contest’s Steering Committee, to discuss and agree on the implementation plan and other preparations for the event.

The 2026 “Banking Sector Digital Transformation” Contest is being organized in the context of rapid digital transformation nationwide. The banking sector has identified digital transformation as one of its key priorities to enhance operational efficiency, improve service quality, and strengthen the overall competitiveness of the sector.
During the meeting, members of the Steering Committee and the Organizing Committee discussed and reviewed the Contest’s framework, including its content, rules, implementation methods, and organizational plans. Participants also proposed measures to enhance the creativity and practical applicability of the Contest’s categories, while emphasizing the promotion and dissemination of digital transformation initiatives and solutions with real value for banking operations.
According to the plan, the Contest is organized to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam's banking sector (May 6, 1951 – May 6, 2026) and to respond to the 2026 Banking Digital Transformation Day (May 11, 2026).

An overview of the meeting
The Contest will be held in a stage-based format consisting of three rounds: “Synergizing Strength,” “Conquering the Digital Era,” and “Architecting the Digital Future.” The Contest’s content will focus on the Party’s policies and the legal regulations related to digital transformation, as well as the strategies, programs, and development orientations for digital transformation in the banking sector. In addition, the Contest encourages innovative initiatives and solutions associated with practical banking operations.
Delivering his remarks at the meeting, Mr. Pham Tien Dzung highly appreciated the initiative to organize the Contest. He emphasized that in recent years, the banking sector has remained one of the leading sectors in digital transformation, with many modern digital banking products and services serving both people and businesses.
The SBV Deputy Governor also requested the Organizing Committee to continue refining the plan and regulations of the Contest, while closely coordinating with relevant units in preparation for the event, thereby contributing to affirming the banking sector’s pioneering role in promoting national digital transformation.
