On January 3, 2018, at the SBV headquarters, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) organized a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister’s Decision appointing Mr. Doan Thai Son as the SBV Deputy Governor.
The ceremony was attended by the SBV Governor Le Minh Hung; the other SBV Deputy Governors; representatives from the Office of the Party Central Committee, the Government Office, the Central Organizing Commission of the CPV, the Central Inspection Commission of the CPV, the Ministry of Home Affairs; representatives from the Banking Trade Unions and the central bank Youth Union; the Directors General of the SBV Departments; the Chairpeople of the Boards and CEOs of the state-owned commercial banks, Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, Vietnam Development Bank, the Cooperative Bank, Vietnam Banks’ Association, the Deposit Insurance of Vietnam, Vietnam Asset Management Company, etc.
According to Decision No. 2136/QD-TTg dated December 30, 2017 announced at the ceremony, the Prime Minister appointed Mr. Doan Thai Son as the SBV Deputy Governor. The Decision took effect from the date of signing. Mr. Doan Thai Son was previously the Director General of the SBV Department of Legal Affairs.
Under the authorization by the Prime Minister, Governor Le Minh Hung handed over the Appointment Decision to Mr. Doan Thai Son. He congratulated Mr. Doan Thai Son on his new position. He said that the appointment reflected the acknowledgement of the contributions of Mr. Doan Thai Son and the SBV Department of Legal Affairs to the banking operations over the past time. He expressed his hope and belief that Mr. Doan Thai Son would continue to develop his capacity, wisdom, experience, and the sense of responsibility to accomplish the assigned tasks in his newly appointed position.
In his statement of gratitude, Mr. Doan Thai Son promised to do his best to contribute to the development of both the SBV and the banking sector.
