Vietnam Airlines has announced that it will start to allow customers to buy tickets using QR code through the National Payment Corporation of Vietnam (NAPAS) and VNPay.
Customers can use various applications – including Momo and Moca – mobile banking, and Internet banking to pay for their tickets, along with the more traditional methods on their website www.vietnamairlines.com as well as at its ticket agents nationwide.
Customers can make payments for flight tickets at anytime and anywhere using only their smartphones. The new function simplifies payment procedures for customers and enhances confidentiality, as all of the account information is encrypted and customers are not required to provide any information related to bank cards.
After successful booking online, in order to make payment using by QR code, customers must choose payment option “NAPAS local card”. At the NAPAS payment gateway, customers choose the form of payment using QR code, using e-wallet Momo, Moca to scan the QR code. In case you buy air tickets through the booking system of Vietnam Airlines, customers can also easily deploy payment by scanning the QR code placed on transaction counters.
Napas said that, with the successful implementation of connecting Vietnam Airlines e-ticket payment services with Momo and Moca QR codes, NAPAS will continue to expand its reach to other QR code supply units in the market.
As a national switching and electronic clearing and settlement services unit, NAPAS conducts a pay-as-you-go connection with the QR code to enable commercial banks, intermediaries, and retail businesses can apply QR code technology in providing payment products and services to users on the online payment gateway. In addition, NAPAS will also research and propose solutions to promote the application of QR code technology in the development of QR code payment ecosystem in Vietnam. In addition to the card payment transaction, NAPAS will continue to invest in technology systems that meet electronic switching and electronic clearing requirements for digitized payment transactions (tokenization, digital payment, QR ...) in the market, contributing to complete the national digital payment infrastructure.
Earlier, at the start of June, customers who are members of VNA’s Golden Lotus program, were given the choice to use domestic bank cards to make payments on the website www.vietnamairlines.com for tickets booked over the switchboard at 19001100 and 19001800. They could also pay through internet banking, ATMs or at transaction counters under the management of Techcombank and Vietcombank.
