"Holding the purse-strings" is one of the financial education programs aiming to implement the National Financial Inclusion Strategy towards 2025, Vision to 2030; the Scheme on Enhancing the accessibility to banking services; the Scheme on Enhancing payments for public services via banks.
This Program is a new and creative method for financial education, using graphics and visualizations to explain about banking processes through short stories about people and life. The contents are directly related to the use of financial services such as payments, deposits, lendings, insurance, etc. Particularly related to payments, the Program would provide the people with the utilities of cashless payments, e-payments, as well as the risks and threats to avoid, such as not providing personal information, visiting alien web pages, sharing OTP passcodes with others, etc. Information about finance and banking would be disseminated in a lively and attractive way, ensuring the simplicity and convenience for the people to learn. Especially, each episode of the Program would convey a lesson about love, gratitude, human values, etc. associated with the old sayings and proverbs.
Deputy Governor Nguyen Kim Anh speaks at the ceremony
“Holding the purse-strings is a financial education program with the high potential of spreading widely. I hope this Program will be a great success. Through the Program, the people of all ages can understand and use financial services easily”, SBV Deputy Governor Nguyen Kim Anh emphasized.
Ms. Le Thi Thuy Sen, Director General of the Communication Department of the SBV, speaks at the ceremony
According to Ms. Le Thi Thuy Sen, Director General of the Communication Department of the SBV, information on finance and banking products and services is often considered very academic, and the conventional communication methods often lack interactions and the ability to spread widely. It can be said that, there are four difficulties for financial education activities, namely “Difficulty in learning - Difficulty in remembering- Difficulty in applying - Difficulty in spreading widely”. To overcome those difficulties, the "Holding the purse-strings" Program producing team has pursued and has high expectations for the “four easy-s” solution “Easy to learn - Easy to remember - Easy to apply - Easy to spread widely” in order to help the audience to easily understand and apply to their daily life.
Each episode of the Program will be broadcast for five minutes at 20:55 every Friday on VTV1 channel, starting from May 7, 2021.
