According to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO), the consumer price index (CPI) in June 2022 increased by 0.69% against that of May 2022; up by 3.18% as compared to that of December 2021 and up by 3.37% in comparison with the same period last year.
Out of eleven groups of commodities, the prices of nine groups of commodities increased and the prices of two groups of commodities decreased.
Specifically, the price of the group of traffic registered the highest increase of 3.62%; the price of the group of culture, entertainment and tourism rose by 0.52%; the group of beverage and cigarette increased by 0.35%; the group of household appliances and goods was up by 0.31%; the group of other commodities and services rose by 0.24%; the group of footwear and hat was up by 0.17%; the group of food and catering services increased by 0.8%.
The group of housing and construction materials was down by 0.01%
The core inflation increased by 0.44% in June 2022 as compared with that of the previous month, and increased by 1.98% over the same time of 2021. The average core inflation for the first half of 2022 was up by 1.25% as compared with that of the same period of 2021.
