With the slogan of "Break your limits” demonstrating the unlimited power of the digital technology, Vietnam Bankcard Day, which was jointly organized by the Tien Phong Newspaper and the National Payment Corporation of Vietnam (NAPAS) under the content instructions of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), has continued to spread the spirit of innovation and breakthroughs based on the digital technology, the application of advanced payment technologies to make non-cash payment more user-friendly and familiar to various groups of customers, including students.

Vietnam Bankcard Day 2023 has further contributed to the realization of the goals set by the Government in the Scheme on Cashless Payment Promotion in Vietnam for the 2021-2025 Period, and the National Financial Inclusion Strategy.
Over the past time, the legal frameworks, mechanisms and policies on promoting cashless payment and digital banking operations have been continually improved, creating a synergy and creating favorable conditions for cashless payment development, the application of new technologies, as well as for safe and sound banking operations. The SBV has proactively developed various contents and made several financial education programs, such as the TV game shows of "Smart Money", "Holding the purse-strings", “Correct Understanding of Money”, a series of events of the “Tomorrow Bankers 2023” Contest, etc., in order to provide instructions to and protect users when using banking products and services; improve the knowledge and skills for customers in using financial and banking services, especially the skills in making banking transactions on the digital platforms, including through non-cash payment means, thereby contributing to promoting cashless payment and financial inclusion.

According to the statistics provided by the SBV Payment Department, by the end of July 2023, there were more than 140 million cards in circulation in Vietnam, of which, nearly 10.8 million cards have been opened via eKYC. The indicators for cashless payment have continued to show positive signs. In the eight months of 2023, in comparison with those of the same period of 2022: non-cash payment operations increased by 49.71% in the number of transactions; transactions via the internet increased by 62.25% in the number of transactions, and by 5.65% in the transaction value; transactions via smart phones rose by 61.43% and 9.46% in the number and the value of transactions respectively; transactions via QR codes increased by 112.71% and 11.18% in the number and the value of transactions respectively; transactions through points of sale (POS) increased by 23.24% in the number of transactions, and by 23.45% in the transaction value; transactions via ATMs increased by 15.48% in the number and by 23.41% in the value.

Within the framework of Vietnam Bankcard Day 2023, “Song Festival 2023” was also officially launched on October 6, 2023 at the Stadium of Hanoi Education University, with the attendance of Deputy Governor Pham Tien Dzung, representatives from the Payment Department, the Communication Department, etc.
“Song Festival 2023” was participated by 25 commercial banks, financial institutions, international card issuers and over one hundred kiosks introducing various products and services in different areas of food, education, shopping, etc.
Continuing the success and significance of the community activities in the two editions in the past, Vietnam Bankcard Day 2023 has further identified the social responsibilities of the Song Festival event. Therefore, the Organizers and participants in the event joined hands to make donations for a "Computers Room" to a school on Bach Long Vi Island, or in a mountainous province through the account for charity opened at the Military Joint Stock Commercial Bank (MB).
