SBV Governor Nguyen Thi Hong
To all generations of leaders, officials, civil servants and employees of Vietnam’s banking sector
On the occasion of the 73rd Anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam Banking Sector (May 6, 1951 – May 6, 2024), on behalf of the Personnel Board of the SBV’s Party Committee and the SBV’s Board of Management, I would like to convey the best wishes to all of the former and current leaders, war invalids, families of fallen ones, officials, civil servants and employees of Vietnam’s banking sector.
My dear former and current colleagues,
The Banking Sector is celebrating its 73rd Birthday in a delightful atmosphere when the whole nation is solemnly preparing for the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 – May 7, 2024), a victory of great historical significance. On this occasion, let’s all proudly recall the glorious traditions and great contributions of the banking sector to the cause of national liberation and reunification of the country, and the cause of renovation, development, integration of our country.
During the two resistance wars against the French and the Americans, the banking sector had overcome all difficulties and hardships, gradually developing and consolidating an independent and self-reliant monetary system, both serving the resistance and the production and circulation of commodities, building a socialist economy in the North. During this period, there had been tens of thousands of shining revolutionary examples in the patriotic emulation movements, and hundreds of heroic officials who had sacrificed their lives while performing their duties on various fronts.
After the country had been reunified, the banking sector had made great efforts with the entire system of the Party, the army, and the people to gradually restore, renovate, integrate, and develop the economy and the society, and had achieved comprehensive and remarkable results in all aspects of operations, contributing to controlling the inflation, maintaining the stability of the macro-economy, the money market and the forex market; consolidating, developing, renovating and improving the operational quality of the system of Vietnamese credit institutions, meeting the demands for credit capital, as well as for banking products and services to serve the people, the production and business activities, promoting the economic growth; expanding the international integration, contributing to enhancing Vietnam's role and position in the international community’s eyes.
It can be said that, in every period, the generations of officials, civil servants and employees of Vietnam’s banking sector have made their best efforts and dedication, making important contributions to the proud achievements of the banking sector and the country in general. With the great contributions over the past 73 years, many collectives and individuals in the banking sector have been honored to receive various noble awards presented by the Party, the State, the different agencies and authorities, as well as by the international institutions. On behalf of the Personnel Board of the SBV’s Party Committee and the SBV’s Board of Management, I would like to convey my biggest acknowledgement and deepest gratitude to all generations of officials, civil servants and employees of Vietnam’s banking sector.
My dear former and current colleagues,
In the current period, the world and domestic economies are facing many difficulties, challenges and unprecedented fluctuations. To continue upholding and promoting the glorious traditions of the previous generations, every official, civil servant and employee of Vietnam’s banking sector today should continue to promote their bravery, wisdom, sense of responsibility, innovation, creativity, and professional ethics to unite with the entire banking sector, putting efforts into overcoming the shortcomings and limitations, as well as all other difficulties and challenges in the new era, striving to accomplish all assigned tasks with excellent results, meeting the new requirements for the development of the banking sector and the country.
I wish all of you and your loved ones the best of health, happiness and successes!
Sincerely,
Nguyen Thi Hong
Member of the CPV’s Central Executive Committee
