On May 22, 2024, at the headquarters of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), Deputy Governor Pham Tien Dzung had a meeting with Ms. Kelly Tullier, Vice Chair of Visa Inc. (VISA)
At the meeting, Deputy Governor Pham Tien Dzung informed the guests about the situation of e-payment and non-cash payment in Vietnam in general, and the use of Visa cards in particular. The SBV Deputy Governor affirmed the SBV’s high recognition for VISA's operations as an international card issuer with a large market share in Vietnam in the process of promoting e-payment and non-cash payment in Vietnam.
The SBV Deputy Governor expressed his beliefs that VISA would continue to promote its successes and further support non-cash payment operations in Vietnam through various initiatives and new payment technologies to create innovative products and payment services at affordable costs for Vietnamese customers.

On behalf of the delegation from VISA, Ms. Kelly Tullier, Vice Chair of Visa Inc., thanked the SBV leadership for welcoming the delegation and expressed her appreciation for the SBV's support to VISA’s operations in Vietnam during the past time.
The Vice Chair of VISA also expressed her appreciation for the SBV’s support by improving the legal corridor and the policy mechanisms to promote non-cash payment, enabling VISA’s development in Vietnam. The Vice Chair of VISA wished to further maintain the frank and open discussions with the SBV, so that VISA may continue to contribute to the SBV’s policy-making and management to promote non-cash payment in Vietnam.

Within the framework of the meeting, the two sides also discussed about VISA's contributions to the development of the e-payment and non-cash payment systems over the past time, as well as possible activities to accelerate financial inclusion in Vietnam in the future.
Through the cooperative activities with the Asia Foundation (TAF), VISA is also committed to implementing cooperation programs to promote financial inclusion and a digital economy in Vietnam; supporting Vietnamese people in using non-cash payment, especially payment by Visa cards.
