The General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO) has announced that the consumer price index (CPI) increases by 0.15% in March against the previous month, decreases by 0.1% in comparison with December, 2014, and registers a YoY increase of 0.93%.
Specifically, the price of six groups of commodities out of eleven groups of commodities increases. The price of the group of food and catering services registers the highest increase of 0.36% in comparison with the previous month. The price of other groups of commodities also increases, with the price of the group of culture, entertainment and tourism by 0.18%; the price of the group of housing and construction material by 0.16%; the price of the group of family equipment and appliances by 0.09%; the price of the group of medicine and health services by 0.04%; and the price of the group of education by 0.01%.
The price of five groups of commodities decreases, of which the price of the transport group declines by 0.31%; the price of the group of beverage and cigarette decreases by 0.11%; the price of the group of garment, footwear and headwear is down by 0.04%; and the price of the postal group decreases by 0.02%.
The gold price is down by 1.63% as compared to the previous period; and VND depreciates by 0.16% against the US dollar.
