The Vietnamese delegation, led by Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), attended the 48th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Baku, Azerbaijan. The ADB’s 48th Annual Meeting was officially launched on May 4, 2015.
At the meeting with ADB President Takehiko Nakao, Deputy Governor Nguyen expressed her sincere thanks to the ADB and her appreciation for the financial support, policy advice, and technical assistance given by the organisation to Vietnam’s development programs. She emphasised the Vietnamese Government's determination to efficiently utilise ADB financial resources in the country's development process. She also briefed President Nakao on Vietnam’s socio-economic development, and future plans. She said that the Government was determined to stabilise the macro-economy, curb inflation and proactively restructure the economy in order to ensure sustainable development.

For his part, President Nakao commended the achievements of the Vietnamese Government in obtaining socio-economic stability, and expressed his re-commitment to the partnership and support of the ADB in Vietnam's continued development.
While attending the Annual Meeting, the SBV Deputy Governor also took the opportunity for a bilateral meeting with senior representatives from the JBIC, AFD and several large financial organisations, who all committed to continue supporting and providing concessional resources for small- and medium-sized enterprises, supporting industries, and implementing projects on infrastructure building under the public – private partnership.
The Vietnamese delegation also attended the ASEAN Plus Three Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors' Meeting.
