Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) had a meeting with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), including representatives of JICA and professionals from Hitotsubashi University, in Hanoi on October 20 to discuss the technical assistance for supporting human resource development for the SBV in the 2016-2019 period.
At the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong expressed her sincere thanks to JICA for enthusiastically and promptly supporting for the SBV over the past years. She asserted that Japan has been a trusted partner of Vietnamese Government in general and the SBV in particular through various fields of human resources development, the restructuring of the banking sector, NPL resolution and supervision improvement, etc. At the same time, she expressed her belief that programs funded by JICA would bring meaningful results and success as expected and hoped for further support from JICA in the implementation of those programs.
Exchanging about the technical assistance for supporting human resource development for the SBV in the 2016-2019 period, Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong emphasized that the implementation of this program is of great importance for the SBV to enrich knowledge and improve skill of policy formulation, thereby enhancing the capacity of conducting monetary policy in flexible and effective manner.
The representative from JICA said that on the basis of SBV’s demand and substances agreed by the two sides, JICA listed activities and contents which will be focused on for 3 years (from 2017 – 2019), including capacity enhancement training, seminars on exchanging experience, sending experts, and study tours.
