The Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Hong had a working meeting with Mr Robert Kaproth, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S Treasury at the SBV headquarters on February 22, 2017.
The working meeting was attended by Mr Ben Cushman, Acting Director of the Southeast Asia Office at the U.S Treasury, Mathew Mohlenkamp, U.S. Treasury Attaché for Southeast Asia and senior experts from the U.S.A Embassy to Vietnam; Representatives of the SBV include Monetary Forecasting and Statistics Department, Monetary Policy Department and International Cooperation Department.
At the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong warmly welcomed Mr Robert Kaproth and the U.S Treasury Delegation to Vietnam and SBV. Deputy Governor briefed the macro-economic movement of Vietnam and performance of banking sector in 2016, as well as plans and solutions for the banking industry development in 2017.
Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S Treasury Robert Kaproth congratulated on the social-economic achievements of Vietnam, and also briefed Deputy Governor the recent political, economic and social movements of the U.S.
At the meeting, the two sides discussed on the international macro-economic situation in the coming time. Robert Kaproth expressed his belief that the U.S Treasury and the SBV will have further cooperation in the coming time.
