Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) had a meeting with Ms Anna Marrs, Chief Executive Officer, Commercial and Private Banking and Regional Chief Executive Officer, ASEAN and South Asia at the SBV headquarters on March 2, 2017.
The meeting was attended by Mr Nikrukt Sapru, General Director at Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam, representatives from SBV entities, including Monetary Policy Department, Agency for Banking Supervision and Inspection.
At the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong welcomed Ms Anna Marrs’ work-trip to Vietnam, concurrently stated that, the SBV Governor highly appreciates contribution of foreign banks in Vietnam to the development of banking sector in particular and Vietnam macro-economy in general. Standard Chartered is one of the banks that positively supported and exchanged experience, consulting policy and recommendations on banking operations and credit institutions in the context of the banking sector facing various challenges to ensure the stable development, safe and sound operation, contributing to curbing inflation in accordance with the targets set out by the Government of Vietnam over the past years.
For her part, Ms Anna Marrs expressed her sincere thanks SBV for support and guidance for Standard Chartered Vietnam over the past time. She briefed Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong the movements and strategies of Standard Chartered Bank in the ASEAN, South Asia and Vietnam. Concurrently, Anna Marrs presented several plans of Standard Chartered Bank in expanding the business activities in Vietnam in the coming time.
