Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) had a meeting with Mr. Naoyuki Yoshino, Dean of the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) in Hanoi on April 3.
The meeting
At the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong warmly welcomed the working visit of Mr. Naoyuki Yoshino and ADBI delegation to Vietnam. She highly appreciated and acknowledged the role of ADBI in supporting member countries including Vietnam in the process of formulating and implementing policies as well as enhancing their capacity and share experience. She also expressed her sincere thanks to ADBI for its belief to choose Vietnam as co-organizing workshop with theme of “Catalyzing financial inclusion in Asia through financial literacy and consumer protection” on April 3-4, 2017. The objective of the workshop is to build capacity of officials in understanding issues related to financial literacy protection and how they can be promoted to support financial inclusion and economic development in developing Asia. She hoped for further cooperation with ADBI to organize other events in Vietnam in the coming time.
For his part, Mr. Naoyuki Yoshino expressed his sincere thanks to Deputy Governor Nguyen Thi Hong and the SBV for cooperating with the ADBI to hold the mentioned – above workshop in Vietnam. He also shared with the SBV Deputy Governor about ADBI’s activities and its role in helping member countries to formulate policies and hoped for cooperative enhancement in various fields with the SBV.
