Deputy Governor Nguyen Kim Anh of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) had a meeting with Mr. Felimy Greene, Regional Head of Customer Franchise for Citi's Consumer Banking business in Asia and EMEA, in Hanoi on April 4.
Attending the meeting were representatives from International Cooperation Department, Payment Department, Banking Supervision Agency and Information Technology Department.
At the meeting, Mr. Felimy Greene and Citibank delegation introduced digitization programs applied to payment field in Asia and Vietnam, and shared information on digital banking services at Citibank such as digitizing procedure of identifying customers, digital signature and application of digitization to bank card payment, digitizing database to develop modern digital banking…
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Kin Anh said that the SBV acknowledged the common trend of digital payment and spoke highly of innovation and application of digitization to banking services by Vietnamese commercial banks in general and by Citibank Vietnam in particular. In fact, commercial banks in Vietnam have been enhancing development of modern banking services, especially the development of digital banking.
Moreover, the SBV Deputy Governor highly appreciated experience and information shared by Citibank delegation. He expressed his hope that Citibank Vietnam would continue developing digital banking services; research and apply modern technology in line with international payment trend in order to ensure safe and sound payment with proper cost, thereby contributing to strengthening e-payment in particular and developing non-cash payment in Vietnam in general.
