Deputy Governor Nguyen Phuoc Thanh had a meeting with UK Export Finance (UKEF) and the UK Embassy in Vietnam, in the SBV head quarter on May 11.
Attending the meeting were Mr. Louis Taylor, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at UKEF, Mr. Giles Lever, the UK Ambassador in Vietnam, and representatives from SBV International Cooperation Department, Foreign Exchange Management Department and Monetary Policy Department.
At the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Phuoc Thanh warmly welcomed the working visit of the delegation from the UKEF to Vietnam. He asserted that Vietnamese Government and the SBV always facilitate foreign investors to make their investment effectively in Vietnam. He also briefed the guests of Vietnam’s socio-economic situations and the banking performance, emphasizing the management of monetary policy in a flexible manner, contributing to curbing inflation and stabilizing macro-economy.
For his part, Mr. Louis Taylor expressed his impression on Vietnam’s economic development and contribution of the banking sector to the economy. He said the aim of the working visit is to seek opportunity for expanding the UKEF’s investment in Vietnam. UKEF hoped to make its investment in Vietnam’s projects of improving infrastructure and airports, waste treatment as well as cooperate with Vietnam’s commercial banks to provide loans serving the infrastructure development of Vietnam.
Moreover, the two sides exchanged their views and shared information to strengthen investment activities and commerce for the mutual benefits.
