The Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) issued Decision No.1238/QĐ-NHNN on June 23, 2017 to allow The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. – Hanoi branch to provide additional services.
Accordingly, the SBV Governor allows The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. – Hanoi branch to provide “foreign exchange business and services in the domestic and international market in line with the SBV’s regulations" and add new services to Item 4 of License No.55/GP-NHNN dated February 20, 2013 of the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. – Hanoi branch granted by the SBV Governor; To revise the content written in Item 4 of the License No.55/GP-NHNN dated February 20, 2013 of the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. – Hanoi branch, from: “the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. – Hanoi branch is allowed to conduct the following activities in Vietnam Dong and foreign currencies”, to: “the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. – Hanoi branch is allowed to conduct the following activities of commercial banks in Vietnam Dong”.
The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. – Hanoi branch is responsible for conducting above-mentioned activities in line with applicable laws; implementing legal procedures as stipulated in Item 3, Article 18b of Circular No.40/2011/TT-NHNN dated December 15, 2011, issued by the SBV Governor on the granting of license and organization, performance of commercial banks, branches of foreign banks, representative offices of foreign credit institutions and other foreign organizations with banking operations in Vietnam (revised and supplemented by Circular No.08/2015/TT-NHNN) to implement the above-mentioned content of revision.
This decision took effect on the date of signing and is an integral part of License No.55/GP-NHNN dated February 20, 2013 of the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. – Hanoi branch.
