The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) issued Decision No.2264/QĐ-NHNN on October 27th, 2017 to revise License of HSBC Bank (Vietnam) Ltd. - HSBC (Vietnam).

Accordingly, the SBV Governor approved the revision of Item 2 Point 6 of Operation and Establishment License of 100% foreign-owned bank No.235/GP-NHNN dated September 8th, 2008 granted to HSBC Bank (Vietnam) Ltd. as follows: “2. HSBC Bank (Vietnam) Ltd. is allowed to trade and provide foreign exchange services in the domestic and international market within the scope stipulated by the SBV”.
HSBC (Vietnam) is responsible for: (i) Providing the mentioned-above services in compliance with applicable laws and other relevant regulations; (ii) Implementing procedures in line with Item 3 of Article 18b of Circular No.40/2011/TT-NHNN dated December 15th, 2011 on granting license to commercial banks, foreign bank branches and representative offices of foreign credit institutions and other foreign credit institutions with banking operations in Vietnam (as revised by Circular No.08/2015/TT-NHNN dated June 30th, 2015).
This Decision took effect from the date of signing and is an integral part of Operation and Establishment License of 100% foreign-owned bank No.235/GP-NHNN dated September 8th, 2008 granted to HSBC Bank (Vietnam) Ltd.
Certificate of Eligibility for foreign exchange services provision No.11327/NHNN-CNH dated December 29th, 2008; Certificate of Registration for foreign exchange services provision No.11328/NHNN-CNH dated December 29th, 2008; No.5507/NHNN-TTGSNH dated August 1st, 2013 and other documents on approving foreign exchange services of HSBC (Vietnam) ceased to be effective from the date of signing this Decision.
