According to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO), the consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.13% in November against the previous month, and by 2.38% as compared to that of December, 2016.
The prices of eight out of eleven groups of commodities increased as compared to the previous month. The price of the group of transport registered the highest increase of 0.68%. The prices of the groups of medicine and healthcare services, garments and textile, headwear and footwear increased by 0.15%; other goods and services increased by 0.14%; and food and catering services rose by 0.11%.
Meanwhile, the prices of three groups of housing and construction materials, postal and telecommunication services, and culture, entertainment and tourism declined by 0.04%, 0.03% and 0.01% respectively in comparison with the previous month.
Core inflation in November 2017 (after deducting the prices of food, foodstuff; energy and state-managed goods and services including healthcare and educational services) increased by 0.06% as compared to that of the previous month, and by 1.28% in comparison with that of the same period of 2016. Average core inflation for 11 months of 2017 increased by 1.42% in comparison with that of the same period of 2016.
The gold price was down by 0.3% and USD depreciated by 0.01% against VND as compared to that of November 2017.
