In Hanoi, the Industry 4.0 Summit was officially launched for 2 days between July 12-13, 2018. The Industry 4.0 Summit 2018 was co-hosted by the Government of Vietnam and the Central Economic Commission. The event was participated by many leaders of the Government Office, the State Bank of Vietnam, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee, etc.
The Industry 4.0 Summit 2018 was co-chaired by H.E. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc - Member of the Politburo, Prime Minister of the Government and H.E. Mr. Nguyen Van Binh - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee - Chairman of the Central Economic Commission.
With the theme “Vision and Development Strategy in the Fourth Industrial Revolution”, the event was attended by many Government officials and nearly 1,800 delegates, including 11 ambassadors and representatives from the international organizations, more than 50 leading experts from the region and the world, together with domestic and international businesses.
During the High-level forum in the morning of July 13, speakers from the Government, different ministries and international experts had a panel discussion with the audience, in which business leaders also proposed a number of policies and plans to implement action plans in the coming time for Vietnam to actively participate and catch up with the technological trends, creating favorable conditions for enterprises of all economic sectors to speed up the application of achievements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution to improve their competitiveness. The forum provided a clear message on the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Vietnam in the coming time, at the same time directly responding to or nominating the relevant ministers to answer the issues raised by the enterprises.
In addition, the Forum had five thematic sessions with experts from the State Bank of Vietnam, the World Economic Forum (WEF), the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the World Bank (WB), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and many businesses.
At the Forum, the experts in Industrial Intelligence, CIOs, CSOs, IT experts participated in the discussion panels and provided updates on the Industry 4.0 developments and application strategies. Furthermore, a lot of practical solutions and experience were also shared to help businesses / organizations to optimize and improve their performance.
As a side event, the International Exhibition on Smart Technologies promises to bring new experiences of smart technologies and industrial applications from the leading technology corporations such as Smart Factory, Automation, 3D Printing, AI & Robotics, Intelligent Sensor, and Big Data, Blockchain, Cyber Security, Internet of Things, e-KYC, Cloud computing, Mobility, Authentication technology, Customer experience enhancements, etc.
