On October 31st, 2018 in Hanoi, Deputy Governor Nguyen Kim Anh of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) had a meeting with Mr. Song Jun-Sang, the Standing Commissioner of the South Korean Financial Services Commission (FSC) during his visit in Vietnam to attend Korea ICT Day 2018 &\nFintech Demo Day co-hosted by Vietnam Banks' Association (VNBA) and the South Korea’s counterpart.
At the meeting, Deputy Governor Nguyen Kim Anh warmly welcomed the FSC Standing Commissioner’s working visit to Vietnam. The SBV Deputy Governor and the FSC Standing Commissioner exchanged information on the Fintech markets and the Fintech management policies of Vietnam and Korea; the SBV’s proposals regarding the bilateral cooperation plan; the potential cooperation between the two parties in researches and other cooperation activities on Fintech.
Previously, the SBV Governor and the FSC Chairman signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation in the field of financial innovation, which includes information and experience sharing, the development and implementation of specific cooperation plans on Fintech. The substances of the working session between SBV Deputy Governor Nguyen Kim Anh and FSC Standing Commissioner Song Jun-Sang were in line with the spirit of this MOU.
The cooperation with the FSC in Fintech will provide important additional resources for the SBV to strengthen its capabilities both in research and in practices.
On October 31st, 2018, Korea ICT Day 2018 was held with the theme of "Promoting Fintech Technology and Information Technology in the Digital Transformation Age".
