On November 19, 2018 in Hanoi, the Payment Department of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), in collaboration with Taipei Fubon Bank (Chinese Taipei), organized a seminar on Financial Technology (Fintech).
Speaking at the Seminar, Mr. Nghiem Thanh Son, Deputy Director General of the Payment Department cum Deputy Head of the SBV's Fintech Steering Committee, said that Fintech is currently attracting great attention; in Vietnam, the Government and the SBV have been very proactive in promoting the ecosystem for the development of Fintech startups. The SBV has taken initial steps in guiding the implementation of the solutions for improving the Fintech ecosystem in Vietnam. On behalf of the SBV's Fintech Steering Committee, he expressed his thanks to Taipei Fubon Bank and its experts for their presentations and exchanges at the Seminar. The useful information and shared experience would help the SBV to have more sources of reference information in the process of promulgating policies and regulatory framework on digital banking as well as Fintech in the coming time.
