On April 8, 2019, at the headquarters of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), Governor Le Minh Hung had a meeting with Mr. Francois Painchaud, the newly-appointed IMF Resident Representative for Vietnam and the Lao P.D.R.

At the meeting, Governor Le Minh Hung congratulated Mr. Francois Painchaud on his new appointment as the IMF Resident Representative for Vietnam and the Lao P.D.R with an office term of three years, starting from June 3, 2019.
Governor Le Minh Hung hoped that, on his new position, Mr. Francois Painchaud would continue to promote the long-time good cooperative relationship between the IMF and the relevant agencies in Vietnam, developing the dialogues, advocacy and regular and close policy exchanges with the Ministries and agencies, especially between the IMF and the SBV. The SBV Governor also expressed his belief that Mr. Francois Painchaud would further enhance the cooperation activities in the fields of policy dialogue, advocacy and capacity enhancement in general and in the banking sector in particular.
For his part, Mr. Francois Painchaud expressed his honor to work in Vietnam as the IMF Resident Representative for Vietnam and the Lao P.D.R. He hoped to receive the strong support and close coordination from the Government of Vietnam and the SBV, and affirmed to strengthen the cooperative relationship between the IMF and Vietnam, as well as with the SBV.
