In the morning of November 12, 2020, the National Assembly (NA) voted to adopt Resolution No. 2020/QH14 approving the Government's nomination of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong to be the next Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV). Two other nominations for new Government members (Minister of Health and Minister of Science and Technology) were also approved.

Accordingly, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong has been officially approved by the National Assembly to take the position of the Governor of the SBV. The votes were cast electronically and the approval was reached with almost all of the NA Deputies voting yes.
Before that, the votes were distributed to the NA Deputies for the three nominations of new Government members.
Accordingly, among a total number of 481 NA Deputies, 475 were present; the number of distributed votes was 475, and the number of votes collected was 475.
The later counting showed that for the nomination of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong, the number of valid votes was 472, and there were 3 invalid votes. The number of Yes votes was 467, accounting for 97.08% of the votes.
With this result, the NA has officially approved the Prime Minister’s nomination of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong to be the next SBV Governor.
