According to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO), the consumer price index (CPI) in October 2021 decreased by 0.2% against that of September 2021; up by 1.67% as compared to that of December 2020.
Out of eleven groups of commodities, the prices of three groups of commodities decreased and the prices of eight other groups increased.
Specifically, the price of the group of food and catering services decreased by 1.28%; the group of housing and construction materials was down by 0.26%; the group of postal services & telecommunication went down by 0.04% against the prices of September 2021.
The price of the group of traffic registered the highest increase of 2.51%; the price of the group of education increased by 0.25%; the price of the group of beverage and cigarette rose by 0.19%; the group of footwear and hat was up by 0.13%; the group of other commodities and services went up by 0.12%. The price of the group of household appliances and goods was up by 0.06%; the group of culture, entertainment and tourism increased by 0.04%; the group of medicine and healthcare increased by 0.02%.
