According to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO), the consumer price index (CPI) in November 2021 increased by 0.32% against that of October 2021; up by 2% as compared to that of December 2020. For 11 months of 2021, the CPI increased by 1.84% as compared to that of the same period last year.
Specifically, out of eleven groups of commodities, the prices of nine groups of commodities increased and the prices of two other groups decreased.
The price of the group of traffic registered the highest increase of 3.11%, followed by the group of housing and construction materials, which was up by 0.46%; the price of the group of beverage and cigarette rose by 0.33%; the group of garment, footwear and hat was up by 0.25%; the price of the group of household appliances and goods was up by 0.19%; the group of commodities and other services went up by 0.25%; the group of culture, entertainment and tourism increased by 0.09%; the group of medicine and healthcare increased by 0.04%; the group of postal services & telecommunication went up by 0.03% as compared to that of October 2021.
The price of the group of education decreased by 0.92%, and the price of the group of food and catering services decreased by 0.17% as compared to those of the previous month.
The core inflation increased by 0.11% in November 2021 as compared with that of the previous month, and increased by 0.58% over the same time of 2020. The average core inflation for eleven months of 2021 was up by 0.82% as compared with that of the same period of 2020.
