According to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO), the consumer price index (CPI) in February 2022 increased by 1% against that of January 2022; up by 1.42% as compared to that of February 2021. For 2 months of 2022, the CPI increased by 1.68% as compared to that of the same period last year, and the core inflation increased by 0.67%.
Specifically, as compared to January 2022, the CPI in February increased by 1%. Out of eleven groups of commodities, the prices of ten groups of commodities increased and the price of one group decreased.
Among ten groups of commodities which experienced price increases, the price of the group of traffic registered the highest increase of 2.35%; the group of food and catering services went up by 1.54%; the group of housing and construction materials was up by 0.92%; the prices of the group of education and the group of culture, entertainment and tourism both increased by 0.51%...
Also according to the GSO data, the core inflation in February 2022 increased by 0.49% as compared to that of the previous month, and went up by 0.68% as compared to that of the same period last year. For 2 months of 2022, the core inflation rose by 0.67% as compared to that of the same period of 2021.
